Welcome to Global Irish Genealogy
I specialise in helping clients worldwide learn about their Irish family history. Using genealogical records and boots-on-the-ground research, I will no stone unturned to help you get to your Irish family roots. In addition to genealogy I am an experienced historical & archival researcher and consultant. You can learn more this on my personal website.
How it Works
1. Enquiry: You make an enquiry via the Contact Me form or to info@globalirishgenealogy.com.
2. Free Consultation: We arrange a 30-minute consultation, either on Zoom, on the phone, or in-person (if possible). This consultation enables me to understand the aims of your query, your expected outcomes and for me to consider how much time might be required to complete it. You can also indicate to me on this call if you would prefer to pay for a set number of hours, or for a package.
3. Quotation: I will go away to consider what is discussed during the consultation, then revert back to you with a bespoke quotation and suggested timeframe. Sometimes the hourly rate is better, sometimes a package is better. I will advise you of all your options so that you can make an informed choice.
4. Commission: You advise me of how would you like to proceed. I then send you the Terms of Service and a payment link for a deposit equivalent to 1 hour of research (usually €40).
5. Research Commences: Once the deposit is received, I will commence the research, and aim to update you along the way.
6. Results Delivered: I will deliver the results of the research in report form via email.
7. (Optional): Results Discussion: if you request it, there is an option to add on an additional call at the end to discuss the headlines of the report.
About Me

I’m an Irish historian and genealogist, and former team member of the BAFTA-winning TV series Who Do You Think You Are?
I earned my MPhil in Modern Irish History from Trinity College, Dublin in 2012, and then spent over 10 years working as a Historical Specialist on TV shows for the BBC, RTE, National Geographic Channel and countless others.
I split my time between my home in Co.Meath, Ireland and my adopted home in South London.
In September 2025 I will commence my PhD in transnational Irish emigration history, at the Unviersity of Edinburgh.
On Who Do You Think You Are? I researched and produced episodes where celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellan and Cheryl Cole uncovered their family history.
I am a member of Irish Genealogical Research Society (IGRS) and Meath Archaeological & Historical Society.
